Backend with Java and Spring
REST interfaces with Spring Boot, authentication and authorisation with Spring Security, JPA/Hibernate, versioned migrations with Flyway, documented with OpenAPI.
Databases
PostgreSQL and MySQL. Data modelling, indexes, execution plans, connection pools, separate demo and production databases.
Architecture
Ports and adapters, so the domain logic stays independent of framework and database. Vertical slice, microservices, validation at the boundaries, clean code and SOLID.
Testing and code quality
JUnit and Mockito for unit tests, Testcontainers for integration tests against a real database, SonarQube, code review before the merge.
Operations and DevOps
My own Linux server: reverse proxy with automatic TLS, applications under systemd, CI/CD through GitHub Actions, daily backups, alerting on failure.
The products running on itSecurity
OWASP Top 10 as the floor. Rate limiting per IP and per account, security headers, Argon2id, secrets in the vault rather than in code.

About me
I am Nikita, a backend developer based in Aachen. For three years I was with a software company in Aachen, first on an internship and then in the apprenticeship to become an IHK-certified application developer, where I built and maintained REST interfaces with Java and Spring Boot. Before that, six years of system administration on Linux and Windows. Since May 2026 I have been building my own products end to end, from the data model through to the server, and running them day to day. It is exactly that combination of development and operations that I want to bring into a team.

Platform for finding and creating outdoor events. Simple interface, tools for organising and sharing across social media.
Three-year apprenticeship. Production development of the business platforms gypsilon workflow and kzwo. Java, Spring Boot, real customers.

Alongside employment I build websites and web products for founders, small companies and agencies. Direct contact, fixed prices, no agency in between.
